At a glance.

In 1986, the activities of the Forest Department started in Subarnachar under the Coastal Forest Department, Noakhali.  Subarnachar Forest Department consists of 1 SFPC-Social Forestry Plantation Center, Habibia Range, Charbata Range and Char Alauddin Range.  Mangroves, non-mangroves, dams and road afforestation have been created since 1986 under various projects in the new chars that have sprung up in the sea or rivers to protect the lives of the people living in the coastal areas from the effects of cyclones and tidal surges.
